August 9th Meeting Minutes...
- Attendance for the August meeting: Allen Anderson, Chip Teters, Clint Rayburn, Denese Freeman, Donny Judy, Gary Barnicoat, Glenn Wisenbaker, Jim Marsh, Kenny Butts, Matt Norris, Mike Smith, Olen Hicks, Richard Minyard, Steve Clark, Mark Knol, Terry Clinkenbeard, Jason Black
- Officer Reports:
- Bobby Jones (VP): no report
- Mike Smith (Sect): Working on keeping website updated, learning web design, please let me know if anything needs to be updated, send me photos if we don’t have one for you. Keep Bass Memberships updated
- Jim Marsh (Conservation): Please bring fishing line, they take a long time to fill up and ship off. We get free fish habitat when we send in line.
- Terry Clinkenbeard (Youth): Youth tournament at American Horse. Casting kids coming up, need volunteers. If you are going to fish the club championship or federation you need to help at a youth event
- Richard Minyard (President): Top 6 announced, changed to Eufaula. Banquet coming up, get tickets. 1st federation coming up. Bring proposals for rule changes next month. Will vote on rule changes in November meeting.
- Gene Gilliland (ODWC report):
- 1) Wildlife EXPO was huge. 59,000 attendees including 9000 kids on Friday. Big thanks to Terry for coordinating volunteers and to everyone who helped. We did over 1,800 at Castingkids. Lifetime license went to a 9-year old girl in Yukon who took her first cast at EXPO.
- 2) Lake warnings still in effect for many lakes due to blue-green algae. Lakes are not closed but Corps of Engineers warns against swimming and skiing.
- 3) Most lake have or are turning over. Cool nights dropping water temps so that thermocline breaks down and entire lake mixes.
- 4) Reminder to clubs to submit tournament results via ODWC online reporting system.
